Tree removal.
A big tree, a split tree, a dead one, a leaning one, a branch hanging over the house: some trees have to come down. Drew looks at the tree, the space around it and what sits underneath, works out a plan, and our team removes it the best way we can: safe, tidy and efficient. And if the tree can be saved, we will tell you.

Tree removal jobs we take on.
- 1
Dangerous trees, and dead or dying trees.
- 2
Large, medium and small trees, one tree or several.
- 3
Complicated and tricky removals.
- 4
Trees over buildings, and overhanging or leaning trees.
- 5
Storm-damaged and split trees.
- 6
Invasive trees and weeds.
No tree too big, too small or too tricky.
Species and size do not matter. The gear and the method are chosen to suit the tree: rope access and rigging, a spider lift, a crane or a climb, whatever the job needs. Steep blocks and tight access are part of the work. Where no machine can get in, such as a back yard down a flight of stairs, everything comes out by hand.
How a removal works.
- 1
You talk straight to Drew, a qualified arborist. He comes out for a free quote on site, because every tree and every yard is different.
- 2
Our team assesses the tree and the site, works out a plan, and agrees it with you before any work starts.
- 3
Our team removes the tree the best way: felled where there is room, or rigged and lowered in sections, climbed, taken by spider lift or lifted out by crane.
- 4
The wood and green waste are dealt with the way you want, and the site is left clean.
The questions we ask, and why.
Before a tree comes down, a few questions decide how it is done. This is how an arborist avoids problems before they happen.
- 1
Which way is it leaning, and what is it over? This decides whether to rope it, crane it or climb it, and protects what is underneath.
- 2
What is the access like? This decides what machines can get in, and whether it has to be done by hand.
- 3
How wet is the ground? Wet ground wrecks lawns. It can also make a leaning tree unsafe to climb, because climbing can make it tip faster.
- 4
What is the health of the tree? A dead, hollow or rotten tree fails differently from a healthy one.
- 5
What type of tree is it? Hardwood or softwood, whether it drops limbs, whether it snaps: each species reacts differently.
Storms and emergencies.
Our team has done plenty of storm call-outs, including cyclones, high winds and heavy rain. Usually a tree has come down on the house, taken out the service wire, or blocked the driveway so you cannot get to work or take the kids to daycare. Our team is contactable 24 hours, and gets there straight away in an emergency. A call-out fee applies.
- 1
A tree on your house: call straight away. A crane can be used to secure it, so it does no more damage.
- 2
A tree across the driveway: it is cut and cleared so you can get out.
- 3
Our team has done a lot of insurance work, including storm damage.
Wood and green waste.
It depends on whether you are in town or on a farm, and what you want. You choose.
- 1
Chipped and taken away, so there is nothing left to deal with.
- 2
Cut and stacked, so you keep the wood for firewood.
- 3
Left as mulch.
- 4
Milled: if you want the timber milled, we can organise someone to do it.
Protecting your yard.
Heavy gear can ruin a lawn, so we wait for the ground to dry unless a tree is in immediate danger. For a lawn you want to protect, big flat track mats spread the weight, like the little orange mats used to get a bogged car out, only much bigger. They are quoted as an option, so you choose, and you know the cost up front.
Power lines, neighbours and boundaries.
- 1
Near power lines, work stays outside the legal limits of approach, and the power company is involved when needed.
- 2
Our team will talk to your neighbours before the job, and explain what is happening and why. It is easier when an arborist explains it.
- 3
There are rules about trees on a boundary. We follow them and still let people know.
Council approval and permits.
Whether a tree is protected depends on your council, and on the tree: native species, heritage or significant trees, and trees near waterways can all have special rules. If a permit is needed, our team helps get it sorted. Check before any tree is cut, so you do not get fined.
Before our team arrives.
- 1
Clear the area: move cars and bins, and make sure our team can get to the tree.
- 2
Mark the tree you want removed.
- 3
Pick up any pet droppings in the yard.
- 4
Let your neighbours know, or ask us to talk to them.

What customers say.

Questions, answered.
Do I need approval to work on a tree?
It depends on the tree and on your council. Some native, large or significant trees are protected, and the rules differ between councils. Check with your council before work starts, and tell Drew about the tree when you call so the job can be planned properly.
Can you work on a tree near power lines?
Work close to overhead lines has strict safety rules and extra risk. Tell Drew about any lines when you call, so the job is planned the right way. In some cases the power company has to be involved.
Is any tree too big or too small?
No. Size and species do not matter. Our team chooses the gear and the method to suit the tree, whether that is climbing, rigging, a spider lift or a crane.
What if a tree has come down on my house?
Call straight away. Our team is contactable 24 hours and gets there straight away in an emergency. A crane can be used to secure the tree so it does no more damage. A call-out fee applies.
What happens to the wood and branches?
You choose: chipped and taken away, stacked for you to keep as firewood, left as mulch, or milled. If you want the timber milled, we can organise someone to do it.
What if the job turns out bigger than quoted?
The quote is the quote. Everything is written into it and signed off. If you ask for extra work on the day, we amend the quote and send it again before we do it. A mistake in the price is on us, not you.
Will you talk to my neighbours?
Yes. Our team is happy to talk to your neighbours before the job and explain what is happening and why. It is easier when an arborist explains it.
Can I get a quote from photos?
Photos help Drew plan, but every tree job is quoted on site. The ground might be uneven or there might be something you cannot see in a photo, and the job needs to be seen to be priced fairly. The on-site quote is free.
What if the tree can be saved?
We will tell you. Sometimes a tree can be pruned, supported with a cable brace, or left standing as a habitat tree instead of being removed, even if that means we lose the job.
